SUMMER IS HERE THE PERFECT TIME TO ENJOY THIS BEAUTIFUL HANDPAINTED BRITISH TEA & DESSERT SERVICE c 1880 - 1900. Most decorative 19th century Victorian fine china for your country or city home. So rare, there is no online information or pictures. (Even the fine vintage china experts Replacements could not identify it.) There is a number 1409 and what looks to be a capital B on some of the pieces.
The pattern is GREEN TRELLIS like on a white ground with various MEISSEN like sprays of garden FLOWERS both inside and outside the cups. The pieces are accented with GILT paint. There are 36 pieces in this beautiful tea and dessert service. It is comprised of:
1 Teapot & Lid 6 1/2" H (Some crack/crazing mostly at the base inside the pot)
1 Sugar & Lid 5 1/2" H
1Creamer 4 1/4" H at Handle
1 Bowl 7"D x 3 1/4" H
2 Rectangular Cake Plates 8 1/2" x 10"
6 Coffee Cups
12 Teacups
12 Saucers 6" ( 4 have cracks in need of repair)
